Whirlwind Romance

Well I’ve thought it over, and it seems silly to withhold pictures of my recently completed quilt.  This is “Whirlwind Romance” – my entry for the Project Modern Challenge 2 – Monochromatic Challenge.

In the spirit of romance, I designed a quilt filled with passion.  A crashing wave, created by inserting strips into rectangles of varying shades of red fabric.

I quilted using a free motion loop-de-loop following the curve of the wave.

A simple back.

Hope you enjoy! It was fun to make something completely different.   At times I’ve been deeply in love with this quilt, and other times completely ambivalent.  It’s been a “Whirlwind Romance!”  Regardless, I’m really happy I took the challenge.  I definitely learned a couple of new things, as I do with every quilt.

This quilt is beautiful. Really creative and so challenging to make a “monochromatic” quilt. Love it.

  2. I REALLY like this quilt!! I think you did an awesome job making it actually monochromatic. This quilt is really in the spirit of the competition!
